If you need to monitor more than three different time zones, consider downloading one of the clock widgets designed for the Windows Vista sidebar, many of these have the ability to display more than three different time zones, and if that still doesn't provide you with enough time zones you can run more than one instance of your chosen widget.

If the accuracy of your PC's clock is important to you, use the settings in the 'Internet Time' tab to select a server to synchronise your PC's clock to. So long as you own regional settings are correct Windows will automatically adjust the clock based on your location, and then keep it perfectly synchronised.



Monitoring Time Zones.

With Windows Vista it's very easy to keep track of time zones in different countries using the built in system clock.

It's is possible to add upto two extra clocks to the standard clock, thus allowing you to monitor the time in two extra countries.

  1. Click the 'Start' button and type time into the search box, when 'Date And Time' is displayed, click it to open the Date & Time dialog box shown above.
  2. Click the 'Additional Clock' tab and the first Show this clock checkbox to display an additional clock.
  3. In the 'Time Zone' drop down, select the time zone you want.
  4. Enter a description for your new clock if the default of Time Zone name isn't suitable.
  5. If you want a second additional clock click the lower 'Additional Clock' check box and repeat the process.
  6. Click 'Apply' & 'OK' to close the dialog.
To view your additional clocks, either hover your mouse over the clock in the task bar to view digital versions or click it to view the full analogue versions.
